Winter blast could threaten new spring flowers and gardens

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A bitter cold blast will hit Lubbock Friday morning, according to the most recent forecast.  But it's been so warm lately many of you already planted flowers or other spring plants.  T.G. Trees in southwest Lubbock offers some expert advice on how protect them.

Kurt Chauveaux says, "Basically any trees and plants that you can get a blanket over top of, that would be the best idea. Some type old sheet or blanket will work.   Make sure that they're watered in properly and then if you've got some mulch put it out on top and keep that ground warm."
