Fund set up for motorcyclist injured in accident

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The family of an injured motorcyclist opens a benefit fund to help with medical bills.

Lubbock police tell NewsChannel 11 that 29-year old Chas William Nash was riding a Honda motorcycle east on 4th Street around 7:30 Tuesday night. Samantha Silva, 17, was driving her Pontiac Grand Am westbound, and authorities say Silva turned into the path of the motorcycle.

Investigators say Silva told them the sun blinded her so she didn't see Nash and turned in front of him. Police say they will cite Silva for failure to yield the right of way.

Nash remains in critical but stable condition at UMC. Donations to the Chas Nash Fund can be made at any City Bank location. For Your Cell Phone
