Afternoon fire damages 3 apartments

Posted:

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - An afternoon fire in central Lubbock causes significant damage to three apartments. The fire started around 4 p.m. in the 4800 block of Boston Avenue.

The Lubbock Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the fire, but fire officials on the scene say the blaze may have started with a grass fire in the shared backyard of the triplex, then was fueled by Sunday's winds.

All three units received fire damage in the back and smoke damage throughout. The Lubbock Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the fire.
