In the days and weeks to come, you will hear many people mentioned as possible candidates, but at this point, it is just talk. Tuesday evening, NewsChannel 11 asked Lubbock Republican Party Chair, Dan Isett, if there is already a list of possibilities. This was his response:
"Not a list, per se. I think that we on the Republican side will have any number of candidates that may or may not get into that race, but we're blessed to have a well qualified group of people that may be interested in running for the seat," says Isett.
Isett says that Combest's seat is in a Republican district, and the party is determined to keep it that way.
