'Mutton Bustin' tryouts set for first 150 kids to show

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The 67th annual ABC Pro Rodeo at Citybank Coliseum is this Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

If you have a child ready to try the rodeo life..tonight is their chance with open "Mutton Bustin" tryouts.

Sign up begins at 5:00 p.m. and the rides start at 6:00 p.m.

Contestants must be between the ages of 4 and 7 and not weight more than 55 pounds.. Tonight the first 150 kids will have an opportunity to ride like the pros and the top 30 will be invited to ride in front of the rodeo crowds Thursday through Saturday.

Protective helmets and vests will be provided.

Trophy buckles will be given to the top 3 finishes on Saturday night. The kids must have a signed waiver from their parents.

Mutton Bustin is back at the ABC rodeo
It's back by popular demand, one rodeo event is sure to give all the cowboys and cowgirls a ride.  NewsChannel 11's Ann Wyatt Little has more about Mutton Bustin.
