AMARILLO & LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - There is new information on a story we covered back in September. The family of Michael Dick is suing the Potter County Sheriff. 

The case involves some controversy back here in Lubbock. The former Lubbock Medical Examiner was accused of trying to protect potter county deputies, an allegation Dr. Thomas Beaver denied. 

A former Potter County inmate has now come forward to say he and others witnessed jail deputies abusing Michael Dick in the days before he died.  In addition to the lawsuit, the case is still under review by a justice of the peace.
