LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - We can put a dollar figure on a story NewsChannel11 told you about. Water rates went up April 1st and we reported that March water use was going to show up on the April billing cycle. The City Council did not know that and neither did Lubbock water customers.
Due to the story NewsChannel11 reported, the council called a special meeting on Monday. The plan is to rebate the higher April rates on the water you used in March. The city estimates that nearly $640,000 of water revenue and $537,000 of sewer revenue is at stake.
