High Fire Danger Hits South Plains - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) Lubbock and the South Plains will be under critical fire danger Saturday.  

Here is a map from the U.S. Forest Service. It shows almost the entire NewsChannel 11 viewing area in dark red, which is the highest level of fire danger. And Lubbock is the subject of a fire weather watch, hazardous weather outlook, and a special weather statement from the National Weather Service.
