Area fire crews battle grass fires - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A wind advisory remained in effect for the South Plains Saturday afternoon. The strong gusts made it difficult for crews battling a grass fire outside of Slaton.

Flames broke out around 2:30 p.m. along U.S. Highway 84 near All American Chevrolet. The U.S. Forestry Service had the South Plains in a critical fire danger.
