Lubbock men strut their stuff for rape awareness

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - More than 200 Lubbockites strut their stuff to raise awareness about rape at this year's walk a mile in her shoes event. Men traded in their tennis shoes for some high heels to lap a mile around the Lubbock County Court House. Their $25 registration fee and money raised at a silent auction will benefit the Lubbock Rape Crisis Center.

"It goes towards any victim service. We have counseling; we do medical accompaniment, community education, follow-ups and referrals. Anything that we can do to help victims," said Linsey McCutchin with the Lubbock Rape Crisis Center.

The center serves 12 area counties and assisted 327 rape victims last year.
