They doubled their production in two years and to accommodate the growth, Friday Breedlove Dehydrated Foods opened its new 40,000 square foot warehouse. The ribbon dropped to officially mark the opening of the near Quarter-million dollar facility. Breedlove houses food for the South Plains Food Bank. The warehouse is located at 1818 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. You can donate to the food bank by calling 763-3003.

If you can not donate to the South Plains Food Bank, you could donate at South Plains Mall. Starting Friday and all month the mall will sponsor the "Big Red Bucket Food Drive." Fifty red buckets are set up in the mall to collect food for a Christmas meal. The South Plains Veteran's Association will distribute the buckets to needy families. A list of items to donate is attached to each bucket.

Meanwhile, Texas Tech held the official opening for it new English-Philosophy and Education building Friday. The school held a dedication ceremony followed by tours of the complex. Director of External Relations, Karen Jacobsen, at the College of Education says the building has the largest classroom space in Texas. It is a 311,000 square feet facility with eight computer classrooms, three lecture halls and 70 classrooms.
