Engine Trouble Forces Pilot to Land at LIA

At the airport, around 3 o'clock Monday an American Eagle jet flying into Lubbock reported having engine trouble. The plane was about four miles outside of Lubbock flying in from Dallas, when the pilot reported a problem with one of the engines. The pilot shut off that engine and continued to fly the plane into Lubbock safely with just one engine.

There was no problem with the landing or with the 15 passengers and crew on board. The cause of the problem is unknown at this time. One flight out of Lubbock was canceled as a result.
