LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - An early morning phone call led police to a South Lubbock mobile home park, where a woman said her ex-boyfriend locked her in her mobile home and assaulted her.

Ricky Hampton, 25, is jailed on charges of aggravated assault and violation of a protective order. He also had an outstanding warrant from a previous assault. The victim called police around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday. That's after police say Hampton forced his way inside her home, and then used a drill and screws to secure the door so she couldn't leave.

"At some point during the night he passed out and she was able to crawl out of a side window, and she went to a phone near the office and called police," said Greg Stevens with the Lubbock Police Department. Officers broke through the mobile home door Wednesday morning and took Hampton into custody.

Investigators say he kicked the victim several times with a steel-toed boot. The victim went to UMC for treatment. Authorities are still looking into whether any additional assault occurred.
