Suspect in 2001 murder found in Mexico

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A major break in an 8 year old Lubbock murder case.

Lubbock apartment manager, Jose Neri, was found beaten to death on November 5th, 2001. Joel Saucedo was charged for his murder, but fled to Mexico.

On Wednesday, Lubbock District Attorney Matt Powell annouced that authorities have located Saucedo in Mexico, and they have begun proceedings to return him to the United States. There is no word on when Saucedo might be extradited.
