City Manager Bob Cass has appointed a special team to review an audit of the city's power agency. In October, NewsChannel 11 told you about how the city loaned $5.3 million to the West Texas Municipal Power Agency.
Cass says he, nor the council, knows who authorized that loan. So, to find out, Cass has called for an audit of all city and WTMPA transactions. Now, Cass says he will appoint three people to sit in on the audit.
Those people are:
- Bob Matthews - Former FBI Agent
- J.Q. Warnick - Retired Federal Judge
- John Wilkerson - Lubbock Businessman
The WTMPA supplies electricity to Lubbock, Brownfield, Tulia, and Floydada.
