Willie Rueda had four hits, including a tiebreaking two-run single in the third inning, to lead Texas Tech past Kansas 15-10 Friday night. Rueda, who finished with four RBIs, had a run-scoring single in a six-run sixth inning that gave the Red Raiders (17-23, 8-8 Big 12) a comfortable 15-8 lead.
Taylor Ashby also had four RBIs, while Chris Richburg, Scott LeJeune and Justin Berry had three hits apiece in Texas Tech's 21-hit attack. Richburg hit his 10th home run. Robert Kilcrease (3-0) won despite allowing four runs - three earned - in two innings. Chad Bettis finished the game with 2 1/3 scoreless innings. Tony Thompson had two hits, including his 10th homer, and three RBIs to lead Kansas (24-13, 7-6).
Kansas starter Shaeffer Hall (3-3) couldn't hold a 4-0 first-inning lead and gave up 13 hits and nine runs in just two innings.
