Prosecution Faces Harmful Testimony In Sexual Assault Trial

Luther Parker Hinesly is charged with sexually assaulting a 3-year-old boy and Wednesday his defense got to tell his side of the story. The defense presented several witnesses, including the wife of the accused, and a psychologist.

Hinesly is the former owner of the Platinum Learning Center for boys. Prosecutors say the assault took place at the center. During the trial, Wednesday, Hinesly's defense called several witnesses, including his daughter, who adamantly defended her father.

Perhaps the most harmful testimony for the prosecution came when a psychologist discounted all of the victim's earlier testimony. Doctor Phil Davis says the interviewer led the boy to his answers. Davis says the boy was not old enough at the time to know the difference between the truth and a lie.

Closing arguments are expected to begin Thursday.
