Students invent all-terrain wheelchair

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - If you have ever pushed a loved one in a wheelchair, you know it is not always smooth sailing; there are a lot of bumps and barriers out there. 

That's why students at Michigan Tech have designed a wheelchair that lets you maneuver on gravel and even snow trails.  They are called Trail Assist Vehicles. So far, the students have made just three of them - for people with limited or no mobility. 

The project was funded through a state parks and recreation grant in Michigan.
