335 white crosses lined the front of a Lubbock church Friday night. They symbolize the number of drunk driving death's each week across the country. The event, at Temple Baptist Church in West Lubbock, kicked off Mothers Against Drunk Driving's safety celebration. NewsChannel 11 spoke with one woman who knows the emotional damage drunk driving can cause.
"If they see someone who is impaired or drunk, to love life enough to take the keys," said Nita Williams, who lost her child five years ago to drunk driving.
She says nearly 17,000 people die from drunk driving related accidents every year.
