New help for bedsore sufferers

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Scientists in Alberta developed a set of electronic underwear designed to prevent bedsores on people who are confined to a bed or wheelchair.

The problem is that people with brain and spinal cord injuries often get bedsores from the constant pressure caused by lying in bed or sitting in a wheelchair.  This new electronic underwear stimulates muscles that alleviate the pressure caused by sitting. 

Researchers say they are working to improve the device, but early signs are positive.
