Monday is a big deal for Lubbock homeowners

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Monday is a big day for Lubbock homeowners. As part of the city council meeting we get the latest I.S.O. (or Insurance Services Organization) report on Lubbock.   That I.S.O. rating affects homeowner insurance rates. The city has spent a lot of time and money, particularly on the fire department, to improve the I.S.O. rating.

Monday is also a big day for Lubbock taxpayers.  The city council is expected to approve a contract that nearly cuts in half Lubbock's share of the cost for the Slide Road overpass at Loop 289.  It will go from $25 million to $13.5 million.

Also Monday, Councilman Todd Klein has asked for a study of putting kiosks around town. These kiosks would replace many of the functions of a visitor center.  NewsChannel11 will find out if the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance thinks it's a good idea.
