Early voting continues, day 1 poll results are in

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Early voting continues Tuesday for the May 9th election.

On Monday, 5,795 votes were cast in the first day of early voting. To put this into perspective, only 1,400 votes were cast on the first day of early voting for the mayoral election last year.

NewsChannel 11 will continue to follow the voting turnout, and will bring you the latest.

Poll hours are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day except for Sunday. On Sunday, the polls will be open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

In Lubbock County, the county elections office, 1308 Crickets Ave., all United Supermarkets locations and the Texas Tech University Rec. Center, Hartford and Main Street on campus are all early voting locations and will be open every day of early voting.

Other locations and the days and times that they are open are listed below.

  • University Medical Center, 602 Indiana Ave., open 8 a.m.-8 p.m. today only.
  • Lubbock City Hall, 1625 13th St., open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on weekdays only.
  • City of Abernathy, 811 Avenue D., 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on most weekdays; 8 a.m.-8 p.m. on Tuesday and Saturday only.
  • Slaton ISD administration office, 140 E. Panhandle, Slaton, 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. on most weekdays; 8 a.m.-8 p.m. on Tuesday and Saturday only.
  • Idalou ISD administration office, 601 Walnut St., Idalou, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on most weekdays; 8 a.m.-8 p.m. on Tuesday and Saturday only.
  • Lubbock-Cooper ISD administration office, 16302 Loop 493, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on weekdays.
  • Lubbock-Cooper North Elementary School, 3292 108th St., 8 a.m.-4 p.m. today through Wednesday.
  • Lubbock-Cooper West Elementary School, 10101 Fulton Ave., 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday, May 4-5.
  • Frenship ISD administration office, 300 Main St. Wolfforth, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on weekdays.
  • Roosevelt ISD administration office, 1406 CR 3300, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on weekdays.
  • Shallowater City Hall, 801 Avenue G, Shallowater, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on most weekdays; 8 a.m.-8 p.m. on Tuesday and Saturday only.
  • All American Chrysler, 8716 E. Highway 84, Slaton, 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. on weekdays.
  • Covenant Medical Center lobby, 3615 19th St., Tuesday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
  • Lubbock Community Services for the Deaf, 2414 34th St., Wednesday, 10 a.m.-noon.
  • Cornerstone Courts, 2101 Avenue Q., Wednesday, 2 p.m.-4 p.m.,
  • Life/Run Center for Independent Living, 4902 34th St., Thursday, 9 a.m.-noon
  • Elmbrook Estates, 5301 66th St., Thursday, 2 p.m.-4 p.m.
  • Covenant Medical Center, Lakeside, Garden Room, 4004 24th St.., Friday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
  • Roosevelt Clubhouse, 1400 CR 3300, Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • Carillon Senior Living Campus, 1717 Norfolk Ave., May 4, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • Ventura Place, 3026 54th St., May 5 9 a.m.-11 a.m.
  • City of Ransom Canyon, 24 Lee Kitchens St., May 5, 1 p.m.-4 p.m.
