Pioneers defeat Lubbock Christian at Wilder Field - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

PLAINVIEW TX - The 23rd-ranked Wayland Baptist Pioneers defeated #1 Lubbock Christian 10-5 Tuesday evening at Wilder Field.  Junior pitcher Todd Weldon (11-3) gave up three hits and struck out 10 in 6-1/3 innings of work against the hard-hitting Chaparrals. 

Brett Sheppard and Josh Lucas went deep for the Pioneers, who reached the 40-win plateau for the fourth time in school history.  WBU is now 40-11 overall and 199-9 in Sooner Athletic Conference play.

Tanner Rindels had a three-run homer for LCU, which is now 42-6 and 23-4.
