Bush to speak at Lubbock Christian University benefit dinner

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Dr. L. Ken Jones, president of Lubbock Christian University, announced Wednesday that former President George W. Bush will be speaking at a benefit dinner for LCU on September 29, 2009 at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center.

"I look at this event to not only be a benefit for Lubbock Christian University, but one that will benefit the community of Lubbock in being able to host a former president that has strong ties to West Texas," said Jones.  "The evening won't be about politics, but rather an evening of honor and encouragement for President Bush.  He served our country with a dedication to faith and integrity which aligns with the values and principles that Lubbock Christian University was founded on and continues to operate on today."

This event will be the second benefit dinner for the university featuring a nationally known speaker.  In November 2007 the university hosted General Colin Powell as the keynote speaker.

For more information about table sponsorships for the event contact the LCU Office of Advancement at 720-7229.  A table sponsorship is $1,000 and a few individual tickets are available at $100 each.
