Close up video of two South Plains tornados Wednesday

FLOYD COUNTY, TX (KCBD) - Two tornados touched down within a few miles of Floydada and other Floyd County towns.  NewsChannel 11 has them both on video.   The good news is no one was hurt and aside from some utility poles there were no reports of property damage.

The video shot by David Drummond and his team of storm chasers, while in the First Alert Storm Chaser.   Drummond says from his experience when he looked at the clouds he felt certain a tornado was about to drop down.  So, after he and his crew positioned themselves safely they shot video of one tornado as another was coming down.

As for the bigger tornado, we asked Drummond how bad it could have been if people or property had been in its path.

Drummond says, "Well, it would really move your car efficiently.  It's gonna do some pretty bad damage. A mobile home would be destroyed. A house, depending on how it was constructed would get pretty significant damage." So it's a good thing, Drummond says, that no one was in the path of that tornado.
