Motorcyclist hospitalized in overnight accident

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A 27-year-old man is hospitalized following a motorcycle accident in southwest Lubbock.

Police say the man was going about 45 miles per hour when he struck a sign at 71st and Quaker around 1:20 Thursday morning.

He was not wearing a helmet.

EMS took him to the hospital with serious injuries. There is no word on what caused the accident.
