Early Bird Shoppers Pour Into Area Stores

After waiting in line for more than three hours, shoppers were excited to come in from the cold, grab a basket, and shop til they drop. "We're expecting to see several thousand people here today. It'll be steady all day long," says Dee Dee Floresca,Manager at Target.

For target employees, the holidays are the busiest time of year and perhaps the most rewarding. "We all enjoy it because we get to see so many people and it really makes the day fly when we meet people and help them start their Christmas season off," says Floresca.

For holiday shoppers, getting up early is a small price to pay for getting a good deal on hot items. From Karaoke machines to CD players. "I've been out here since 7 and I stood around the corner there and I was like, this is cold, but I wanted to get here and get some of the good sales," says one shopper.

"I'm taking a bunch of toys and Playstation games," says another.

And what kid wouldn't want to see a shiny new bike under the tree for Christmas. "I have a 6-month-old grandson and I bought him some pajamas," says one shopper.

"We're shopping for my kids," says one shopper from Tulia.

Whether you've been naughty or nice this year, it's official, the holiday shopping frenzy in full swing.

You want to be extra careful this time of year when you're out buying gifts this year. After you purchase items and take them to your car, make sure you put them in a place where they can't be seen like in the trunk of your car to avoiding making your car a tempting target for thieves.
