Former New York City Major Rudolph Giuliani has popped the question. A spokeswoman says Giuliani has asked companion Judith Nathan to marry him. The proposal came during a recent business trip to Paris. But the spokeswoman wouldn't discuss any details or reveal when and where the wedding will take place.
According to The New York Times and Newsday, an unidentified source says Giuliani gave Nathan an oval Ceylon sapphire set in platinum and surrounded by ten diamonds. The proposal comes about five months after the 58 year-old former mayor finalized his divorce from Donna Hanover after 20 years of marriage.
The divorce settlement calls for Giuliani to pay Hanover more than $6.8 million. Giuliani and Nathan began appearing in public together more than two years ago, and at the time the ex-mayor referred to her as "a very good friend."Copyright 2002 Associated Press.
