LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The State Comptroller says Lubbock's economy is faring very well.
"This entire High Plains/Panhandle is doing very very well. Sales tax numbers are up, job numbers are up, this is a very vibrant economy," Susan Combs said.
Combs made a Hub City visit Friday to discuss the Texas work force needs, economic development, and issues impacting taxpayers. Combs said the Texas economy could also be boosted by unclaimed money.
She says the funds could be from "a deposit, maybe from a phone company, money left in a bank." Combs say there is millions of dollars worth of unclaimed property in Texas every year.
