LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Lubbock's sales tax activity is down. Sales taxes for the city dropped four-tenths of one percent according to the most recent numbers from the state Comptroller. But here's the good news; Lubbock did much better than most of the state. The state's share of sales tax revenue is down 3.1%
Collections for Lubbock are still up 3.15% if you look at "year to date." Sales tax revenue is a considered a barometer of economic health.
