LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The Obama administration is depending on Texas Tech to research and develop wind energy.
The White House formally approved $28 million this week for use near the Pantex plant east of Amarillo. Pantex will get the electricity from that wind farm and Texas Tech will get the wind energy research. It is called the nation's largest collaborative research wind farm. The goal is to have it ready by 2011.
