SLATON, TX (KCBD) - A weekend accident has now claimed the life of a Slaton man.
The collision happened just after 5 p.m. Saturday. According to officials at the Texas Department of Public Safety, it involved two pickups on FM 41, about a mile west of Slaton.
Jared Terry, 16, of Slaton, was driving a Ford F-150 when he performed a u-turn in front of a Dodge Ram. The driver of the second pickup, Jerry Graves, 66, also of Slaton, was unable to stop and slammed into the Ford. Graves was not wearing a seat belt, and died from his injuries Monday morning.
Terry remains in critical condition at a Lubbock hospital.
