Alcohol election exciting to local wineries

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The effort toward alcohol sales in Lubbock is still full steam ahead. We wanted to know how local wineries are getting ready. McPherson Cellars owner Kim McPherson says he will be able to expand his operation and sell more than just his own wine. But says the benefit goes much further than just his own business.

"I think it will have an impact in the sense that we will get more conventions here and the more conventions we have here the more people I'll get through my tasting room along with all the other wineries in Lubbock," said McPherson.

The election was May 9th, but could take as long as three months for businesses to get alcohol permits.
