WOLFFORTH, TX (KCBD) - Place Seven on the Frenship ISD Board of Education will soon be vacant - just days after Saturday's election.
Current seat holder, Kelvin Parsons, decided not to seek re-election, so Troy Vanderburg ran unopposed for the seat. But Tuesday, Superintendent John Thomas announced that Vanderburg said he was going to decline the position.
Vanderburg says he wants to give up the seat so his wife can return to teaching. Thomas said if Vanderburg did vacate the seat, Parsons could stay on the board until a replacement is found. But Parsons had already indicated he's ready for retirement.
