LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Now to a follow up to a story NewsChannel 11 first brought you Tuesday at 10. McDonald's says it will not stop giving out a CD that's causing controversy in its children's Happy Meals.
The CD, called Kidz Bop, is a collection of six songs that says "sung by children for children". But some adults say a phrase in one of the songs called "I Don't Want To Be" sounds like it says the f-word.
But McDonald's and Kidz Bop, LLC issued a statement saying, "Kidz Bop is a leading national children's brand that delights families and kids with appropriate versions of popular songs. An inaccurate claim has been made regarding the lyrics in the song, "I Don't Want To Be", included on Kidz Bop CD number six from the current McDonald's Happy Meal promotion. This song contains the original lyric 'I'm tired of looking 'round rooms' and does not contain profanity, as some have suggested. The CD's will continue to be available at McDonald's restaurants as part of this Happy Meal promotion, while supplies last."
