LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - We've only seen it once before in the history of Food for Thought, it's on the plate once again. So now, for only the second time, an Indian food restaurant now sits atop the Food for Thought list.

"We love to serve Indian food." Although she's headed to medical school, Gul Singh was raised around the food business. "It's a family owned restaurant. My dad's been in the business for 15 to 20 years now."

Her father opened Lubbock's first Indian food restaurant, and he's found just the right spice to make this hidden hideaway at 3021 34th an Indian Palace of perfection. "It's great. We're very proud of it. We're happy, and we're glad that we have our customers to support us."

But Gul says it take a lot of hard work, "Everyone, when they're working tries to keep it clean and maintain cleanliness as they go so we don't ever have a dirty kitchen. Hopefully, if you do it right."

And for those who don't know much about Indian food, Gul says come try it with an open mind and you'll love it. "If you've never tried Indian food, come in during the lunch buffet. We have a wide variety of food, chicken tikka mekni, we have shish kabobs. That's one of our most popular, and we have lots of curry dishes, beef curry is one of my favorite, veggie dishes as well, it's a big variety of things. Spices! Mild spices if you like mild food, spicy food if you like spicy food, but lots of different flavors. And after you come to the lunch buffet, you can come during the dinner time and dine in and enjoy everything."
