ANDREWS, TX (KCBD) - Officials in Andrews County are hours into recounting votes from this weekend's election that approved a 75-million dollar bond to help a company build a nuclear waste disposal site.
The Andrews County measure passed by three votes - 642 to 639. The hand recount started at 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon, and could take several hours. Melodye Pryor, an opponent of the Dallas based Waste Control Specialists and its operation in West Texas, requested the recount.
