LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Police are investigating a second homicide in the Hub City in two days. Daniel Wilbon, 23, was found shot to death in his home in the 900 block of East Rice Street Friday morning.

The 23-year-old's body was discovered by his roommate just after midnight. The roommate called 911 but by the time police and EMS arrived, Wilbon was unresponsive. "The information that we have right now is pretty limited because it is again very early in the investigation. It's very obvious that we are dealing with a homicide situation, we are certainly working it as such," said Captain Greg Stevens with the Lubbock Police Department.

Daniel Wilbon was a 2004 graduate of Estacado High School. "We built a timeline so far and we do know that the victim was alive yesterday earlier in the evening we do have information that he was alive at least not long before the call," said Stevens.

Police say initially there doesn't seem to be forced entry into the house.

Stevens says the roommate is working with detectives but has not been allowed back into the home to see if anything was taken. "We don't know if we are dealing with a burglary that the victim interrupted. We don't know if we are dealing with an altercation between the victim and somebody he knew we're not sure what we are dealing with at this time," said Stevens.

There are no suspects at this time, but police continue to question the roommate and other witnesses. "He's a witness just like every other witness we are dealing with and we can't go into that any further, he's the roommate," said Stevens.

There are still a lot of unanswered questions in this case, and this is the second homicide in two days.

At this time police say it's too early to tell if there is a connection between the two deadly shootings.
