LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Drug maker Pfizer says it will hand out some of its most popular prescription drugs to people who have lost their jobs, free of charge, for one year.

The deal covers anyone who's been laid off, and consequently lost his or her health insurance, since January 1st.  If that describes your situation, you will need to show Pfizer some proof of a pink slip.  There is one other catch; you need to have been taking a Pfizer drug for at least three months before your lay-off.

There are 70 drugs in the program, including Lipitor, Viagra, Celebrex, birth control pills, and medications to help people stop smoking.

To find out more about the program, which starts July 1st, call (866) 706-2400 or (Click Here) to go to the companies website.  Pfizer will accept applications through the end of the year.
