Participants memorialize Lubbock confederate soldiers

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - It looked like a scene from the past Saturday at the City of Lubbock Cemetery.  A few dozen people gathered, including Civil War reenactors, to memorialize the Lubbock Confederate Veterans.

"We're trying to memorialize and celebrate what the Confederate Veterans were all about. Many of them are Lubbock town founders. We're just out here celebrating our heritage. It's a heritage of honor. We're not a racist group or about hate or anything like that," participant Stuart Williams said.  Participants say they have individually memorialized these men in the past, but this was the first organized memorial they've had.
