LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - There are some home remedy works and you just can't explain why. That may be the case with ginger. Have you ever tried eating ginger snaps in the car to keep from getting car-sick?
Researchers at the University of Rochester have tested the theory on a much bigger scale. They gave various doses of ginger pills to cancer patients to see if it could help prevent the nausea and vomiting sometimes caused by chemo. They found those taking ginger saw a 40 percent reduction in nausea, and the effect lasted at least four days after the chemo cycle ended.
Researchers don't know how it works and the can not say for sure if there is a cookie connection But if someone in your family gets car sick, it might be worth keeping a box of ginger snaps in the car
