LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - One thing pregnant women can't afford to go without is a seat belt.
Some women say they don't wear it while they're pregnant because they're worried it could hurt the baby in a crash, but after studying more than 2 million car accident injuries, researchers at Wake Forest University say that's a really bad idea.
Instead, the pregnant women who were involved in car crashes were significantly less likely to have pregnancy complications when they were wearing a seat belt. Those who combined a seat belt with an air bag had the very least amount of complications.
