LEDA announces 30 or more new jobs

By James Clark | email

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - We heard great news Monday from LEDA or the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance.  LEDA will provide taxpayer funded incentives, and in exchange Lubbock gets 30 or more new jobs.  LEDA made the announcement Monday concerning WesTex Documents which will add at least 11 new jobs.   But it could be more like 20 new jobs in the next few years.   WesTex provides off-site document storages.

And a company called CEV will create at 22 jobs but maybe more. CEV provides electronic textbooks. The LEDA CEO was highly complementary of his business retention director Kenny McKay.

CEO Gary Lawrence says, "In these days, retention is probably as important as anything we've ever done.   Not only are you doing retention but you're also doing expansion too."

Believe it or not, LEDA has another "good news" announcement Tuesday morning.
