Lubbock town hall meetings scheduled

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The City of Lubbock has announced that the 2009 Citizen's Advisory Commission (CAC) will hold two more public meetings in May. These meetings are for Lubbock citizens to voice their opinions about potential capital improvements for the City of Lubbock.

The first meeting was held May 12th at Estacado High School. The CAC was appointed by the Lubbock City Council to study the need for capital improvements in the operational areas of streets, municipal facilities and parks, as well as other areas the CAC may deem relevant. 

After hearing reports of needs from city departments and comments from citizens, the CAC will report its recommendations on projects and financing to the City Council no later than June 30, 2009.

The two remaining public meetings will be held as follows:

  • Tuesday, May 19th at 7:00 p.m.--Irons Middle School Auditorium, 5214 79th St.
  • Thursday, May 21st at 7:00 p.m.--Mackenzie Middle School Auditorium, 5402 12th St.
