Sending a Message from America

Thousands of Lubbock military will spend the holidays far away from their families and loved ones. But thanks to technology, they can stay close to home. This month, anyone can send a holiday message on video, to U.S. military personnel around the world.

All you have to do is go by Circuit City off Slide Road and record your greeting. The messages will be collected, edited, and shared with troops through the United Service Organization.

Circuit City Operations Manager Joe Hern says, "It's amazing, some of the comments we got back from some of the troops there last year they were just overwhelmed. I mean we've seen video where soldiers who were crying cause somebody wanted to say hi and thanks."

Military families can record up to a five minute message, which will be transferred to DVD. Then, the families can mail it directly to their loved ones. "Message to America" runs until New Years Eve.
