911 Call Center Flooded, Moves to Fire Department

A broken water pipe flooded the EMS 911 Call Center at University Medical Center about 10 p.m. Wednesday night. So, the hospital moved the center to the fire department administrative center on North MLK Blvd.

Public Relations Director for UMC, Greg Bruce, says at no time did the move interrupt 911 service. Bruce says the dispatch center should be back at UMC within a week. At this point, UMC does not have a damage estimate.
