Last night for you to weigh in on proposed $65 Million bond election

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The City of Lubbock has announced that the 2009 Citizen's Advisory Commission (CAC) will hold one more public meeting in May. This meeting is for Lubbock citizens to voice their opinions about potential capital improvements for the City of Lubbock.

The first meeting was held May 12th at Estacado High School. The CAC was appointed by the Lubbock City Council to study the need for capital improvements in the operational areas of streets, municipal facilities and parks, as well as other areas the CAC may deem relevant.

The City Council has already said street repairs, and water main repairs will be the top priorities in any bond election this year.

After hearing reports of needs from city departments and comments from citizens, the CAC will report its recommendations on projects and financing to the City Council no later than June 30, 2009.

The last remaining public meeting will be held as follows:

  • Thursday, May 21st at 7:00 p.m.--Mackenzie Middle School Auditorium, 5402 12th St.
