LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The man charged with one homicide but considered a "person of interest" in two others is now dead according to a written statement.

The Lubbock County jail says that Tyrone Robinson was found hanged in his cell in what they called a suicide attempt.  Less than 24 hours later Robinson has been pronounced dead.  The following is a statement from the jail.

Today, May 24, 2009 at approximately 8:30 AM, Tyrone Jermaine Robinson was pronounced dead at University Medical Center. He never regained consciousness.  The Lubbock County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division will be assisting the Texas Rangers in conducting the investigation surrounding his death.

Police expect to have more suspects and possibly more arrests next week in the string of murders. No word yet on how this development affects their investigation.
