LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Both the city of Lubbock Cemetery and the Carillon Senior Lifecare Center will host Memorial Day events. The local chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution will host Lubbock's 7th annual Memorial Day service. The event begins Monday at 10 a.m. at the City of Lubbock Cemetery. The American Legion will provide small American flags to place on the grave sites of the more than 2,000 veterans buried there. Seating is limited, so you may want to bring a blanket or chair.

Monday is also the Memorial Day Veterans Salute at Carillon. The C.E.O. of United Supermarkets, Dan Sanders, will be the featured speaker. Sanders himself an Air Force veteran and Mayor Tom Martin will also speak. The event starts at 9 a.m. at the Carillon Senior Lifecare Center, 1717 Norfolk Ave.
