AT&T and TTUHSC team up on new health technology

By James Clark | email

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - What if you doctor could check on you at home?  AT&T is working with Texas Tech on just that kind of technology.  That's according to an article this evening on the Dallas Morning News web site. Devices that monitor patient conditions report back electronically to the doctor. Not only could these devices keep track of the patient but also the patient's medicine.

It's called telehealth.  The Dallas Morning News says nationwide 35,000 patients are using some form of experimental telehealth.  At Texas Tech, the experiment is scheduled to be done with patients at the The Mildred and Shirley L. Garrison Geriatric Education and Care Center.
